Initial Server Setup — Full and Simple Guide

Overview

Use this interface to configure essential server settings such as contact emails, shared IP addresses, webmail theme, home directory, DNS TTL values, Apache log format, and nameservers. All options appear by default for easy setup.

  • Email Addresses: Add one or more addresses to receive alerts. Used in DNS SOA RNAME field.
  • Sender Name: The name shown in the "From" line of notification emails.
  • Reply-To Email: Address for receiving replies to notifications.
  • Cell/Pager Email Alerts: Comma-separated list to receive alerts via SMS.
  • Pushbullet API Tokens: Comma-separated list of tokens for Pushbullet notifications.
  • ICQ Settings: Add ICQ login ID, password, and recipient ICQ numbers.
  • Custom HTTP/HTTPS Alert URLs: URLs for POST alerts with hostname, subject, body, and custom parameters like: https://site.com/alert.cgi?apikey=XXX&state=NY&status=CRITICAL

Basic Configuration

  • Shared IPv4 Address: One IPv4 address for accounts without dedicated IPs.
    10.11.133.14
  • Shared IPv6 Address: IPv6 address for shared use. Must be configured in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and activated with:
    /usr/bin/systemctl restart network
  • Ethernet Device: Interface used for new IP addresses. Example: eth0
  • Home Directory: Main folder for user home directories. Default is /home
  • Additional Home Directory: Alternate mount point if /home is full. Example: home2
  • Webmail Theme: Default theme for webmail users (e.g., jupiter)
  • Create CGI-bin Alias: Auto-alias cgi-bin scripts in Apache. Default: Yes
  • DNS TTL: Time in seconds that DNS records are cached. Default: 14400
  • Nameserver TTL: TTL for NS entries in new zones. Default: 86400
  • Apache Log Format: Choose between:
    • combined — full logs (includes referers, user agents, etc.)
    • common — basic logs (only requests)

Nameservers

You must define at least two nameservers to create new accounts. The system allows you to set up to four.

Click Configure Address Records to add A (IPv4) or AAAA (IPv6) records. The system uses your DNS resolver to lookup current values. You can override them manually:

// A record
ns1.example.com → 192.0.2.1

// AAAA record (optional)
ns1.example.com → 2001:db8::1

Final Step: Save Changes
